Mental illness is one of the leading causes of disability worldwide, with 1 in 4 people globally and almost half of American adults affected by mental or neurological disorders at some point in their lives. I also personally believe that everyone experiences mental illness symptoms.
Nourishing Mind (NM) aims to tackle this public health crisis by providing evidence-based behavioral solutions that enhance mental health. This subsequently improves physical health and reduces the burden of disease. As NM is also committed to health equity, we will discuss solutions to social injustices that impact healthcare.
NM destigmatizes topics of mental health by bringing them to light optimistically. This safe platform enables anyone to share their stories of growth from adversity, which enables us all to develop compassion and resiliency for life’s challenges. NM will discuss topics including:
mental health; behavioral science; overcoming trauma; public health; epidemiology; social issues; human rights; racial equity; nutrition for mental illness treatment
